City of Santa Ana On -Call Demolition Services Proposal
Understanding of Need Statement
w
On -Call Demolition Services
City of Santa Ana
Santa Ana, CA
This work plan is for the demolition of a single story 2,250 square foot concrete block building in the city of Santa
Ana and associated 4,000 square foot asphalt parking lot. Once the South Coast Air Quality Management District
notification has been made, NCM will mobilize with an asbestos abatement crew. This crew will consist of 3-6
asbestos certified workers trained to remove any and all asbestos identified in City provided surveys. After the
removal and disposal of the hazardous waste is complete, NCM will mobilize the demolition team to complete the
work.
The building appears to be an auto shop of some sort so there may be hazardous oils, lifts and underground tanks
that will have to be cleaned and disposed of before the demolition process can begin. NCM will put in place erosion
control measures to prevent runoff of materials from the jobsite, including sand bags, fencing, straw waddles and
other similar items.
Once the demolition does begin, the work will be done using a mix of manual labor, front loader and an excavator to
accomplish this project. The project is expected to last 3 to 5 working days.
The first order of demolition will be the removal of the interior trash and interior walls. If possible the roof would be
salvaged for reuse depending on the quality of the wood. Once the interior demolition is complete the hard
demolition begins with the loader and excavator. During the process the concrete and metal materials will be
separated for salvage. The metal will be placed in bins for reuse and the concrete and asphalt will be hauled to
recycling facilities.
Once all of the debris has been removed from the site NCM will rough grade the site, compacting all voids to 90
percent and importing fill if necessary,
NCM assumes testing for asbestos and all hazardous materials at all sites will be paid for and conducted by The
City of Santa Ana.
7 NCM Confidential and Proprietary Information
Not for Disclosure — Competition Sensitive
