The facility <br />was a solar generating project developed in <br />cooperation between the Department of <br />Energy and SCE. The project includes the <br />removal of 1,800 heliostat mirrors, a 600 -foot <br />tower, turbine, control buildings, sodium <br />nitrate tanks, sumps cooling towers, removal <br />of asbestos containing materials, hazardous <br />materials, universal wastes, hazardous <br />wastes and tank cleaning. The project also <br />involves preparing an environmental sampling <br />plan, a dust mitigation plan, and a soil <br />disposition report. <br />6/07 1/10 Work involved the removal of approx. <br />400,000 sf of interior finishes; 100,000 sf of <br />exterior pre -cast panels; 170,000 sf of <br />concrete slab demolition and 50,000 sf of <br />roofing systems. NCM removed asbestos <br />containing material in the floor tile, mastic, <br />HVAC, and insulation.
