City uf Santa Ana, PVVA RFP— ON-CALL ENGINEERING DESIGN SERVICES FOR WATER AND SEWER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS The City of Santa Ana is located in the County of Orange in Southern California. The City encompasses 27.2 square miles and a population of 325,000 people, The Qty of Santa Ana Public Works Agency — Water Resources Division oversees and maintains the daily operations of the Water System and Sanitary Sewer System. The City of Santa Ana's water system has an average day demand of about 43 million gallons (MG) with 45,000 services. It is comprised of approximately 444 miles of water main, 45 MG of storage at 5 sites, 7 Metropolitan Water District connections, 21 groundwater wells, 7 pump stations, 4 praamUrm regulating stations and utilizes 2 pressure zones. The City's sanitary sewer system has approximately O.UO0 manholes, O9O miles of sewer mains and 2lift stations, The sewer system rn&8ntu all sewage and transports it to the Orange County Sanitation District for treatment. The City is soliciting proposals from qualified professional consulting 5nDa to provide engineering services nan as-needed basis. The shall select two firms b/ provide these services. The City has budgeted $3DO.OU0a year in design funds for this purpose. This request for proposal P) provides interested qualified firms with the information enabling them to submit a Service Bid Proposal and to provide the services described herein. |1. SCOPE OF WORK/SERVICES The City of Santa Ana is soliciting proposals from qualified firms for water resource engineering design services on an as-needed basis. The work, in general, consists of general water and sewer main replacement design projects on arterial highways, local roads and public right-of- ways citywide, The projects may include sidewalks, curb and gutter replacement; repair and overlay of asphalt concrete and/or PCO streets; signing, striping, and other related items as required, Environmental study and documentation preparation will be required on each project, In addition, City may need consultant services for construction management, staking and inspection. Occasionally, the City may need mechanical, electrical, structural services and/or
