CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR ON -CALL EMERGENCY SEWER AND WATER SYSTEM REPAIR <br />SERVICES <br />The City of Santa Ana is seeking qualified construction firms to augment the City's capacity to <br />restore sewer and water service in the event of system failures. The City staffs maintenance and <br />repair crews to keep the sewer and water systems functional. In order to be prepared to respond to <br />large scale emergencies, the City must retain qualified contracting firms experienced in <br />substructures and sewer and water utility facility construction on an as- needed basis. A detailed <br />Scope of Work and agreement terms are attached as part of the Appendix <br />II. PERIOD OF CONTRACT <br />Unless earlier terminated as allowed for in the agreement, contract term shall be for a period of <br />three years with an option to renew for two additional years. <br />Upon completion of the selection process, the selected firms will be awarded a three year <br />The City will select up to three firms to provide these services. <br />The contract term is anticipated to commence after City Council award of this contract and upon <br />receipt and approval of all required insurance documents. The projected contract award date is <br />tentatively scheduled for September 16, 2014 and may be adjusted as necessary. <br />All services provided, and all payments made for services, shall be in accordance with the executed <br />contract agreement. <br />III. OPTION OF RENEWAL <br />The City reserves the right to renew the contract for an additional two year period upon written <br />agreement and mutual consent between the contractor and the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />The contract may be renewed once for a total agreement period of up to five (5) years. <br />IV. FISCAL NONFUNDING CLAUSE <br />In the event sufficient budgeted funds are not available for a new fiscal period, the City shall retain <br />the right to notify the provider of such occurrence in writing at least thirty (30) days before the end of <br />the current fiscal period and terminate the contract on the last day of the current fiscal period <br />without penalty or expense to the City. <br />5H1445 <br />
