Project Description <br />■ Requesting a zone change from industrial to residential (both properties) <br />■ Variance for a reduction of building setbacks to convert existing office into a <br />single-family residence (1732 W. 2"d St.) <br />Planning commission Action / analysis <br />■ At the July 28th Planning Commission Meeting — <br />• Recommended approval of the zone change to be consistent with <br />surrounding development, neighborhood character and General Plan land <br />use designation <br />• Recommended approval of the variance at 1732 W. 2nd St. due to special <br />circumstances relating to the lot's size and street frontage <br />Mayor Pulido opened the public hearing. The following speaker addressed the <br />City Council: <br />• Douglas Lanphere, opposed zone change; may impact number of <br />businesses allowed if Measure CC approved by the voters. <br />Mayor Pulido closed the Hearing. <br />Council discussion ensued. <br />Councilmember Reyna, asked if proposed change would indeed be affected if <br />Measure CC approved. <br />Interim Director Haluza, clarified that area is surrounded by other residential <br />areas and would not qualify for zone allowed to establish dispensary, if measure <br />approved. <br />MOTION: <br />1.
