REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />OCTOBER 21, 2014 <br />TITLE: <br />AGREEMENT AMENDMENT WITH <br />MARIPOSA LANDSCAPE FOR <br />LANDSCAPE SERVICES IN DISTRICT <br />FOUR (STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 18) <br />1 <br />CITY M2EGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on tat Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute an amendment to the agreement <br />with Mariposa Landscape for landscape maintenance services, increasing the compensation by <br />$179,502, which includes a 10% contingency, to an amount not -to- exceed $1,155,665, for a <br />period from November 16, 2014 to January 31, 2015, subject to non- substantive changes <br />approved by the City Manager and the City Attorney <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency is responsible for the landscape <br />maintenance of all City parks and recreational facilities. The landscape maintenance is currently <br />divided Into four park districts and the Civic Center. On August 14, 2014 the City received a 90- <br />day termination letter from Azteca Landscape, the company maintaining District four. On <br />September 16, 2014 City Council approved the release of an RFP for District four, along with two <br />other districts. To allow time to receive and evaluate proposals; staff is requesting an agreement <br />amendment for the period of November 16, 2014 through January 31, 2015 with Mariposa <br />Landscape, who currently provides excellent landscape maintenance service in District three. <br />Mariposa will provide service for District 4 at a cost of $65,273.67 per month ($163,184.00 for 2 <br />'/2 months). A 10% contingency ($16,318) is also included for unanticipated work for a total <br />increase of $179,502. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item allows the City to meet Goal #6 Community Facilities & Infrastructure, <br />Objective #1, Establish and maintain a Community Investment Plan for all City assets, Strategy <br />b, Equitably maintain existing streets and associated assets in a state of good repair so they are <br />clean, safe and aesthetically pleasing for all users. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the PRCSA -Park Maintenance M &R Buildings and Grounds account (no. <br />01113250 62320) and Police Department - Contractual Services account (no. 02614450 62300). <br />25GG -1 <br />
