ARTICLE I <br />1.0 RECOGNITION <br />1.1 Pursuant to the provisions of the Meyers -Milias-Brown Act, Government Code Section 3500, <br />et seq., the City of Santa Ana (hereinafter called the "City ") has recognized the Santa Ana <br />Police Management Association (hereinafter called the "Association ") as the recognized <br />representative of the bargaining unit which includes Police Department employees in the <br />classifications of Police Communications Manager, Police Lieutenant, Police Captain and <br />Police Administrative Manager. <br />Effective February 7, 2005, employees permanently assigned to the position of Police <br />Lieutenant have the "working" title of "Commander" and employees permanently assigned <br />to the position of Police Captain have the "working" title of "Deputy Chief of Police ". <br />
