• Reported that Planning Commission recently had vote to re -affirm that all <br />follow the disclosure rules; matter scheduled for consideration by the Code <br />of Conduct and Ethics Committee. <br />Councilmember Amezcua: <br />• Wished all happy Mexican Independence Day; <br />• Thanked staff for another successful Fiestas Patrias; and <br />• Children back to school and wished all a happy school year. <br />Councilmember Reyna: <br />• Asked all to conserve water; <br />• Participated in parade and walk; thanked all participants; <br />• Attended football game with Godinez losing, but it was a fun event; <br />• Important for staff to improve communication with elected officials; <br />• Requested a comparison of the City's business license fees with other cities; <br />and <br />• Urged all to shop in Santa Ana. <br />Councilmember Benavides: <br />• Fiestas Patrias held over the weekend; success event and thanked staff and <br />attendees; <br />• Echoed comments by colleagues on decorum issues at prior council <br />meeting; how to handle in the future and need clear instructions on how to <br />handle; <br />• Attended Legislative Advocacy meeting in Washington DC last month; <br />• Asked for clarification on disclosure requirement of Planning Commissioners, <br />verbal disclosures provided by appointee; <br />o City Attorney Carvalho, indicated that disclosure is separate from <br />sunshine ordinance and requires them to disclose communication; Code <br />of Ethics Council Committee to consider the matter and bring back to City <br />Council for approval. <br />• Request City Council consider resolution in support of on Samuel Sixtos at <br />the next City Council meeting — agendize as an 85A at next City Council <br />meeting; <br />• Spoke on proposed homeless shelter site; comprehensive solution needed; <br />and <br />• Challenge accepted to visit Compton initiative; 9/21 several churches serving <br />eastside neighborhood — La Santa Ana Initiative; murals and drought <br />resistant items and house painting taking place. <br />Mayor Pulido: <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 35 SEPTEMBER 16, 2014 <br />
