Approve an appropriation adjustment recognizing 2014 South Coast Air Quality <br />Management District Clean Transportation grant funding in the amount of $210,000 in the <br />MSRC Reimbursement revenue account (no. 03110002 - 52351) and appropriate same to <br />expenditure account (no. 03110102-66400). <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Finance and Management Services Agency Facilities, Fleet Maintenance, and Central <br />Stores Division (FFCS) is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement <br />of vehicles, trucks, and maintenance equipment. As part of its 5 -Year Alternative Energy <br />Strategic Plan that was initiated in 2011, FFCS routinely searches for grant funding to expand its <br />efforts in alternative fuel technologies to reduce the City's carbon footprint by lowering levels of <br />pollutants and greenhouse gas emissions. The City's Alternative Energy plan focuses on the use <br />of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Propane, and Electric Vehicles for its fleet inventory. <br />In order to reduce costs associated with implementing these new technologies, FFCS searches <br />for grant opportunities that would assist in offsetting these costs.
