CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO. 11 -6416 <br />SEVENTEENTH STREET WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS <br />The vented pipe cover shall be hot dip galvanized after fabrication and painted. The unit cost <br />for each air and vacuum release valve shall include all materials, labor, incidentals and <br />appurtenances necessary to install each air and vacuum release valve, complete and in place <br />and no additional compensation shall be allowed therefore. <br />The unit quantity for this item listed in the bid proposal is shown solely for the purpose of <br />comparing bids. The agency reserves the right to increase or decrease the amount shown <br />and /or delete this item from the contract without any adjustment in the unit price. Contractor <br />will be paid for the quantities actually constructed. <br />3.15 VERTICAL OFFSET (AS NEEDED) <br />This item is to be used on an "As Needed" basis and only with the prior approval of the <br />Engineer. <br />This work shall consist of furnishing and installing a vertical offset per City Standard Plan No. <br />1413B. All work shall conform to applicable AWWA standards as necessary. <br />The unit cost for each vertical offset up to a depth of 6 feet (from top of water pipe to surface) <br />shall include all materials, labor, incidentals and appurtenances necessary to install each <br />vertical offset, complete and in place and no additional compensation shall be allowed <br />therefore. <br />The unit quantity for this item listed in the bid proposal is shown solely for the purpose of <br />comparing bids. Contractor <br />will be paid for the quantities actually constructed. <br />3.16 LOOP DETECTORS AND DETECTOR LEAD -IN CABLE <br />Detectors and detector lead -in cable shall conform to the provisions in Section 86 -5, <br />"Detectors," of the Caltrans Standard Specifications and these Technical Provisons. Additional <br />loop detector sensor units, if needed, shall be furnished by the Contractor to provide the <br />intended signal operation. Loop detector wires shall be Type 2. Loop detector configuration <br />shall be Type E. Bicycle loop detectors in vehicle lanes shall be Type D circular 6 foot <br />diameter. Loop detector lead -in cable shall be Type B. <br />Asphaltic emulsion sealant shall be used for filling slots in asphalt concrete pavement. <br />Elastomeric sealant shall be used for filling slots in PCC pavement. Front loop (center of loop) <br />to be placed 4 -foot behind back of crosswalk. Loops in the same lane shall be placed 16 <br />feet apart (center to center).
