CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />SECTION 7 — RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTRACTOR <br />7.1 THE CONTRACTOR'S EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES <br />Add the following to this subsection: <br />Parking of the Contractor's vehicles at any given location on City residential streets for more <br />than twenty -four (24) hours, shall not be permitted. <br />7 -2.2 PREVAILING WAGES <br />Add the following to this subsection: <br />Certified Payroll Records shall be submitted to the Engineer every two weeks beginning with <br />the actual start day of construction, and shall be consecutively numbered until the completion <br />of the work. Progress payments will be withheld pending receipt of any outstanding reports. <br />Eight hours constitutes a legal day's work. The Contractor shall forfeit, as a penalty to the City, <br />$25.00 for each worker employed in the execution of the contract by the Contractor or any <br />subcontractor under him for each calendar day during which such worker is required or <br />permitted to work more than eight hours in any one calendar day and 40 hours in any one <br />calendar week in violation of the provisions of the Labor Code, and in particular, Sections 1810 <br />to 1815 thereof, inclusive, except that work performed by employees of Contractors in excess <br />of eight hours per day, and 40 hours during any one week, shall be permitted at not less than <br />one and one -half times the basic rate of pay, as provided in said Section 1815. <br />The Contractor will assure that a qualified supervisor is present at all times when work is being <br />performed. <br />7.3 LIABILITY INSURANCE <br />The provisions of this subsection apply except as herein modified: <br />The Contractor shall, at its own expense, take out and maintain during the life of the contract <br />such public liability and property damage insurance protecting the contractor and any sub- <br />contractor performing work covered by the contract from claims for damages for personal <br />injury, including accidental death, as well as from claims for property damages, which may arise <br />from his operations under the contract, and shall protect him and the City from claims for such <br />damages, naming the City as an additional insured under the policy, whether such operations <br />be by himself or by any sub - contractor or by anyone directly or indirectly employed by either of <br />them and the amount of such insurance shall be as follows: <br />Public Liability Insurance in an amount not less than five hundred thousand dollars <br />($500,000.00) for injuries, death, to any one person, and subject to the same limit for each <br />person in an amount not less than one million dollars ($1,000,000.00) on account of one <br />accident. <br />S -7a <br />23A -71 <br />
