CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />The Contractor shall provide and operate a self - loading motor sweeper with spray nozzles every <br />day, beginning 1/2 hour prior to the end of construction activities, for the purpose of keeping <br />the entire project site clean as acceptable to the City Engineer. <br />The contractor shall furnish and install all temporary piping, pump(s), valves and fittings <br />necessary to distribute the water where required for the control of dust as considered <br />necessary for the safety and convenience of the traveling public, for the reduction of dust <br />nuisance to adjacent property and for other purposes as directed by the Engineer. <br />The use of pressure pumps and spray bars on all sprinkling equipment used for the application <br />of dust palliative will be required. The use of gravity flow spray bars and splash plates will not <br />be permitted. <br />7 -8.2 AIR POLLUTION CONTROL <br />Add the following to this subsection: <br />All organic solvents used must comply with the rules, regulations and orders of the Southern <br />California Air Pollution Control District relating to organic solvents. <br />7 -8.4 STORAGE OF EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS <br />Add the following to this subsection: <br />Storage of equipment and materials in the public right of way during non - working hours will not <br />be allowed, and may only be placed in the public right of way for purposes of use that day. <br />Overnight stockpiling of construction debris or excavated materials is not allowed. Contractor <br />must obtain written approval from the Engineer prior to storage of construction materials and <br />equipment on the street where improvements are planned, but at minimum, adequate flashing <br />barricades shall be provided. <br />No area is available within the contract limits for the exclusive use of the Contractor. However, <br />temporary storage of equipment and materials on City of Santa Ana property may be arranged <br />with the Engineer, subject to the prior demands of the City of Santa Ana. Use of the <br />Contractor's work areas and other City of Santa Ana -owned property shall be at the <br />Contractor's own risk, and the City of Santa Ana shall not be held liable for damage to or loss of <br />materials or equipment located within such areas. <br />The Contractor shall remove equipment, materials, and rubbish from the work areas and other <br />City of Santa Ana -owned property that the Contractor occupies at the conclusion of each <br />working day. <br />7 -8.6 WATER POLLUTION CONTROL <br />Add the following to this subsection: <br />S -7c <br />23A -73 <br />
