CITY OF SANTA ANA <br />SPECIFICATIONS <br />PROJECT NO. 11 -6416 <br />SEVENTEENTH STREET WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS <br />The Contractor's activities shall be confined to the allowable working hours of the selected <br />bid. The working hours under Base Bid Night Work or Alternate #1 Day Work are as follows: <br />Base Bid Night Work: <br />1. From 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday. <br />Alternate #1 Day Work <br />1. From 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, within work areas having <br />either no lane closures or having continuous lane closures, i.e. 24 -hour closures <br />lasting more than one day. <br />2. From 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, for work requiring <br />temporary lane closures, i.e. those having less than a 24 -hour duration, and for <br />work at major intersections. As an alternative, construction at major intersections <br />may be permitted on Fridays, at night or on weekends. <br />3. All major intersections: Construction shall be limited to weekend work only. <br />Maintain minimum one through lane in each direction at all times. <br />4. Work at intersection of 17th Street and Flower Street shall be limited to <br />weekend work only <br />Deviation from these hours /days shall not be permitted without the prior consent of the <br />Engineer, except in emergencies involving immediate hazard to persons or property, or as <br />specified otherwise. <br />1.09 CONTRACTOR'S EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES <br />This section shall conform to Subsection 7 -1 of the Standard Specifications and these <br />Technical Provisions. <br />The Contractor shall comply with all local sound control and noise level rules, regulations and <br />ordinances which apply to any work performed pursuant to the contract. Each internal <br />combustion engine, used for any purpose on the job or related to the job, shall be equipped <br />with a muffler of a type recommended by the Manufacturer. The noise level from the <br />Contractor's operations shall not exceed 95 dba at a distance of 50 feet. This requirement in <br />no way relieves the Contractor from responsibility for complying with local ordinances <br />regulating noise level. <br />T -lc <br />23A -82 <br />
