EXEMPT FROM FEES PURSUANT <br />TO GOVERNMENT CODE § 6103 <br />ROH — 11/06/14 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -XX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION <br />NO. 2014 -10 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br />2442 NORTH HELIOTROPE DRIVE, SANTA ANA, ON THE <br />HISTORICAL REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC <br />REGISTER CATEGORIZATION NO. 2014 -11 PLACING <br />SAID PROPERTY WITHIN THE LANDMARK CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana <br />hereby finds, determines and declares as follows: <br />A. On November 6, 2014, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2014 -10) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2014 -11) of the Neiman House, located at 2442 North <br />Heliotrope Drive, Santa Ana. <br />B. The Neiman House has distinctive architectural features of the Storybook <br />design, a variant of the English Revival style, and was built in 1931 by <br />Jacob and Jennie Neiman. Mr. Neiman came to Santa Ana circa 1920 and <br />became a rancher. He was also a past trustee of the Santa Ana Elks Lodge. <br />C. This home qualifies for listing on the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties and is eligible for categorization as Landmark for its unique <br />architectural significance and contributes to a district that has <br />"historical /cultural significance in the City. <br />D. Character- defining features of the Neiman House that should be <br />preserved include, but may not be limited to, materials and finishes <br />(stucco, brick); roof configuration, materials, and treatment; massing and <br />composition; entry porch; doors and windows; architectural detailing <br />(roofing pattern, recessed window placement, attic vents); chimney; and <br />garage. <br />E. The legal owners of the subject property are Jeffery and Nancy Smith. <br />F. The legal description for the subject property is attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A and incorporated by this reference as though fully set forth herein. <br />25A -28 Resolution No. 2014 -XXX <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
