PH — 2015 BID Assessment <br />November 18, 2014 <br />Page 2 <br />subject resolution will confirm the 2015 Assessment report for the BID and levy the assessments <br />for 2015 (Exhibit 1). <br />The 2015 Assessment Report includes a description of the BID assessment formula, where <br />certain business classifications are charged 25 %, 100% or 150% of their business license fee as <br />their BID assessment. This formula was established in 1984. To ensure full understanding of <br />how the assessment formula is applied to each business, attached as Exhibit 2 is a listing of all <br />businesses which would be subject to the 2015 BID assessment showing which charge would <br />apply to each business. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item allows the City to meet Goal #3 (Economic Development), Objective 4 <br />(Continue to pursue objectives that shape downtown Santa Ana into a thriving, culturally diverse, <br />shopping, dining, and entertainment destination), Strategy F (Partner with downtown business <br />and merchant associations to program events that showcase restaurants, shopping and <br />entertainment venues). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action.
