11/12/14les <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -079 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING APPLICATION <br />FOR FUNDS FOR THE ARTERIAL PAVEMENT <br />MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FUNDED WITH <br />REGIONAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION <br />PROGRAM FUNDING UNDER THE MOVING <br />AHEAD FOR PROGRESS IN THE 21s' CENTURY <br />FEDERAL TRANSPORTATION ACT FOR THE <br />WARNER AVENUE PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE <br />PROJECT (FROM WEST CITY LIMIT TO GRAND <br />AVENUE), THE FIRST STREET PAVEMENT <br />MAINTENANCE PROJECT (FROM NEWHOPE <br />STREET TO MAIN STREET), AND THE FAIRVIEW <br />STREET PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE PROJECT <br />(FROM SEGERSTROM AVENUE TO NORTH CITY <br />LIMIT) <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The City Council of the City of Santa Ana conclusively finds, <br />determines and declares as follows: <br />A. The United States Congress enacted the Moving Ahead for Progress in the <br />21St Century (MAP -21) Federal Transportation Act on July 6, 2012, which makes <br />Regional Surface Transportation Program (RSTP) funds available to the Orange County <br />Transportation Authority (OCTA). <br />B. OCTA has established the procedures and criteria for reviewing proposals. <br />C. The City of Santa Ana possesses authority to nominate projects funded using <br />Regional Surface Transportation Program funding, provide sufficient local match, and to <br />finance, acquire, and construct the proposed project(s). <br />D. The City Council hereby authorizes the nomination of the Warner Avenue <br />Pavement Maintenance Project (from West City Limit to Grand Avenue), the First Street <br />Pavement Maintenance Project (from Newhope Street to Main Street), and the Fairview <br />Street Pavement Maintenance Project (from Segerstrom Avenue to North City Limit), <br />including all understanding and assurances contained therein, and authorizes the <br />Executive Director of Public Works as the official representative of the City of Santa Ana <br />to act in connection with the nomination and to provide such additional information as <br />may be required. <br />Resolution No. 2014 -079 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
