KCN/1 1/24/2014 <br />RESOLUTION NO.2014 -086 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AUTHORIZING STAFF TO APPLY FOR <br />FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION FUNDING <br />PURSUANT TO 49 U.S.C. SECTION 5310 WITH <br />CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AS <br />FOLLOWS <br />Section 1. The City Council and City of Santa Ana hereby finds, determines, <br />and declares as follows: <br />A. The U.S. Department of Transportation is authorized to make grants to <br />states through the Federal Transit Administration to support capital <br />projects for non - urbanized public transportation systems under Section <br />5310 of the Federal Transit Act (FTA C 9070.1 F); and <br />B. The California Department of Transportation ( "Department') has been <br />designated by the Governor of the State of California to administer Section <br />5310 grants for transportation projects for the elderly and disabled; and <br />C. The City of Santa Ana desires to apply for said financial assistance to <br />permit operation of paratransit service in Santa Ana, California; and <br />D. The City of Santa Ana has, to the maximum extent feasible, coordinated <br />with other transportation providers and users in the region (including social <br />service agencies). <br />Section 2. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the <br />City of Santa Ana does hereby authorize Facilities -Fleet Maintenance - Central Stores <br />Manager to file and execute applications on behalf of the City of Santa Ana with the <br />California Department of Transportation to aid in the financing of capital projects <br />pursuant to Section 5310 of the Federal Transit Act (FTA C 9070.1 F), as amended. <br />IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that Facilities -Fleet Maintenance - <br />Central Stores Manager is authorized to execute and file all certification of assurances, <br />contracts or agreements or any other document required by the Department. That <br />Facilities -Fleet Maintenance - Central Stores Manager is authorized to provide additional <br />Resolution No. 2014 -086 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
