City of SontG Ana - RFP #14 -036 Landscape Architectural Design for pacific Electric Par k Community Inspired spaces 1, <br />DESIGN <br />PrOJC;Ct EXrJP,f IP.I`1Ce � GROUP <br />Civic Center Conservation Garden <br />ONarlo, CA <br />Project Summary <br />RJM Design Group assisted the City with the community <br />outreach required for the Grant Application. The City of <br />Ontario was awarded $3M in Statewide Park Development <br />and Community Revitalization Program Grant to create a <br />new Civic Center Conservation Park. The Conservation <br />Park is located in the Civic Center adjacent to the newly <br />renovated City Hall which received LEED Platinum <br />Certification. The park will provide a public space where <br />the multi - cultural and multi - generational community can <br />gather to engage in the opportunities for social, cultural, <br />and environmental educational activities and programs. <br />The facilities and potential programming that will be <br />experienced at the Civic Center Community Conservation <br />Garden are as follows: <br />Outdoor Classroom Amphitheater will be used for both <br />educational programming and small cultural performance. <br />Rain Water Collection and Water Wise Garden will focus on <br />water conservation programs information and help the <br />community understand the importance of water and the <br />various ways that water conservation techniques can be <br />implemented in the typical home garden landscape. <br />Vegetative Swale provides a demonstration on how to <br />capture and treat storm water run -off to improve water <br />quality. <br />13 SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO - SACRAMENTO <br />www.RJMdesigngroup.com • [949] 493 -2600 <br />California Native Garden will provide a wide selection of <br />native plant material suggested for residential application, <br />which can be beautiful and require very little water. <br />Wind Sculpture /Solar Panels will provide creative <br />examples of alternative energy methods to help reduce <br />our dependence on our natural resources. <br />Interpretive Trail, Conservation Art Wall and Historic <br />Area will provide interpretive signage and conservation <br />information, as well as historical background about the <br />regions early settlers, such as the "Colony Lands and the <br />Chaffey Brothers ". <br />
