(14 -095) <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6,21 <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on1e'Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2 "'Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to National Auto Fleet Group for the purchase of two Ford Transits , and a Ford <br />F -550 truck in an amount not to exceed $242,098, and a contract to Wondries Fleet Group for the <br />purchase of two Ford Explorers in an amount not to exceed $72,175 subject to non - substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Finance and Management Services Agency Facilities, Fleet Maintenance, and Central <br />Stores Division is responsible for the acquisition, maintenance, repair, and replacement of <br />vehicles, trucks, and maintenance equipment. Replacement of City vehicles is based on mileage <br />and performance. As a result and based on the City's lifecycle replacement criteria, four vehicles <br />have been identified for replacement with the following equipment: one Ford Transit, two Ford <br />Explorers and one Ford F -550 Super Duty truck. Two of these vehicles are assigned to the <br />Public Works Agency and will be used in the water maintenance division, and two vehicles are <br />assigned to the Police Department K -9 division. In addition, the City will be augmenting its <br />overall fleet inventory with one new Ford Transit for the water quality /water meter program. <br />Santa Ana Ordinance No. NS -2312 authorizes the City to purchase against contracts from any <br />public agency utilizing a competitive bid process. The National Joint Powers Alliance contract <br />with National Auto Fleet Group for fleet vehicles was awarded as a result of open competitive <br />bidding and the City of Los Angeles contract #15837 was awarded to Wondries Fleet Group as a <br />result of open competitive bidding and meets the City's requirements. <br />2213-1 <br />
