In May 2014, the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) contracted with the University of North <br />Texas for the development of a five-year strategic patrol staffing plan. Various methodologies <br />were employed during the study including interviews with command staff, analysis of existing <br />departmental and city data and reports, assessment of national best practices applicable to SAPD, <br />and the development of statistical models to project staffing needs. The project team was tasked <br /> <br />with developing a five year strategic patrol staffing plan for SAPD. <br />This report is structured in three primary sections and provides the reader with data, information, <br />and analysis that lead to recommendations relevant to the strategic staffing plan of the Santa Ana <br />Police Department. The three sections are as follows: <br /> <br />Section I: Patrol Division Staffing; <br /> <br />Section II: Strategic Staffing Plan Patrol Officer Positions; and, <br /> <br />Section III: Summary of Patrol Staffing Recommendations. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Њ <br /> <br /> <br />
