The Planning Commission made no changes to the recommendation outlined in <br />the attached staff report (Exhibit A). <br />DISCUSSION <br />Thrifty Oil Company is requesting approval of a conditional use permit to allow the construction of a <br />new 2,400 square foot 7- Eleven convenience store with 24 -hour operations on a vacant parcel at <br />2016 West Seventeenth Street. In addition, the applicant is requesting approval of a variance from <br />Section 41 -373 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code (SAMC) in order to allow a reduction in the <br />minimum lot size of a commercial development. Full sized site plans are available for public <br />viewing in the Clerk of the Council Office. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal No. 3 Economic Development, <br />Objective No. 2 (create new opportunities for business /job growth and encourage private <br />development through new General Plan and Zoning Ordinance policies). <br />31A-1 <br />
