As of January, 2014, the <br />County's median income was $84,900. <br />Approximately 80% of families on the program earn <br />less than 30% of the median income, which is <br />$27,100 per year for a family of four. <br />Nearly half (43 %) of participating families have <br />employment income. <br />Participating families pay a portion of their <br />monthly rent based upon their income and the <br />payment standard for their unit. The Housing <br />Authority pays the difference between the <br />tenant's portion and the contract rent. This <br />payment is the Housing Assistance Payment <br />(HAP). The average HAP for October through <br />December was $895. <br />Production <br />HQS Inspections - each assisted unit must 250 <br />be inspected at least annually to ensure it <br />meets the Housing Quality Standards 240 <br />(HQS) in compliance with federal 230 <br />guidelines. From October to December a <br />total of 666 inspections and re- inspections zzo <br />of failed units were performed.
