NO. 14 -088) (NON- GENERAL ❑ implementing Resolution <br />FUND) {STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1C} ❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />CITY MANfEER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />Award a contract to Siemens Industry, Inc., for the purchase of Milestone XProtect Video <br />Management software and associated licenses in an amount not to exceed $20,435, subject to <br />non - substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The City of Santa Ana's Advanced Traffic Management System consists of several components <br />that allow staff to effectively monitor and control traffic signals. One component is the closed <br />circuit television (CCTV) system that enables staff to monitor traffic conditions in real time. The <br />current video management software was installed over ten years ago and can no longer support <br />the current generation of CCTV. The City recently completed a video system upgrade study and <br />determined that Milestone XProtect Video Management software meets all requirements as an <br />open platform system that will handle the City's existing and future CCTV's. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on November 24, 2014, on the City's online bid <br />management and publication system. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as <br />follows: <br />94 Vendors were notified <br />1 Santa Ana vendor was notified <br />1 Bid received <br />0 Received from Santa Ana vendors <br />A bid was received and opened on December 22, 2014. The bid received from Siemens Industry, <br />Inc., is responsive to the specifications and meets the City's requirements. <br />Siemens Industry, Inc. provides maintenance, software, and hardware to various departments <br />throughout the City. The purchase of the Milestone XProtect software and licenses, when <br />combined with these purchases during the current fiscal year, exceeds the $25,000 aggregate <br />limit. <br />22B -1 <br />
