This.protest,is submitted by River View Golf Course located at 1800 W. <br />22 Street- Santa Ana. There are two account;nutubprs associated, with this business: A. <br />8410.301 and 4- 8818300.:. <br />River View Golf Course recognizes.the need for infrastructure - improvements and agrees <br />that a water rate increase of 2.2 %,is reasonable. However, the actual rate increase <br />proposed for 4" meter is 56% in March of 2015 and 192% by July of 2018. These <br />astronomical increases are not made clear to business owners in the text of the rate <br />increase notice distributed by The City. These actual rates had to be calculated using the <br />tables and formulas contained in your letter, a task that I'm sure The City is expecting to <br />be overlooked or ;glossed -over by most businesses. By failing to write those specific <br />increases in text format, and instead placing the onus on business owners to educate <br />themselves as to the true extent. of the increases is misleading and disingenuous. The <br />result of this "omission" will likely be that most business owners will not be aware of the <br />dramatic rate increases until after the increases take effect, <br />The notice carefully explains that the average residential household. will _see only a 2.2% <br />increase, an amount prestunably palatable by most residents.
