St. Andrew Place
Santa Ana, CA 92707
Acct. # 1-4815.300
To the City of Santa Ana,
SP MANAGEMENT, LLC
D.J. Stauch, General Manager
P.O. Box 1053
Los Alamitos, CA 920
(562) 5986491
St. Andrew Mobile Home Park
515 East St, Andrew Place
Santa Ana, Calif. 92707
I am the owner of the trailer park at 515 E. St. Andrew Place, Santa Ana and I am writing to protest the
proposed water/sewer rate increase.
Our park is not sub -metered by tenant for water and sewer. As such, for the following reasons, I am
protesting the increase:
1. We tell the residents to conserve; however, as the cost is not directly passed on to them, they do not
have an incentive to conserve.
2. The fact that occupancy is variable can bump the property into a higher tier price as well as cause
penalties from one period to another,
3. We have a laundry room for the residents. The more laundry they do, the more water will be used. We
have a third party laundry machine company who has raised their rates, however, we don't even break
even now on the cost of water, sewer; electricity, gas, etc. to run the machines. We really don't want
to close the laundry room and force residents to go offsite, especially as some of them do not even
own a car.
4. A few years ago, the city mandated that we redo our parking strips with grass. We put in sprinklers
and have them on the lowest possible setting. However, grass still needs to be watered and thus,
making us open to even further expense.
With the proposed rates as much as doubling within three years, it will make it inevitable to pass these costs
onto the residents. Most of our residents are low income and are very pleased to find such a nice place to live
in Santa Ana for a reasonable cost, especially for Orange County.
Please take into consideration my protest of this proposed rate increase.
Sincerely,
Ethy
