90A. CITY MANAGER'S COMMENTS - None <br />90B. CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Martinez: <br />• Oral Reports on Council Committees: <br />• Finance and Economic Development Committee will meet next <br />Monday - noted that progress has been made on Five -Year <br />Strategic Plan, have requested matrix with performance measures <br />for one -time and on -going expenses; concerned that public safety, <br />parks, education and building healthy community program funds <br />not expended; also, economic development programs in Downtown <br />& South Main have not been completed; <br />• Transportation and Development committee met; noted that policy <br />recommendation will be approved by the full City Council; <br />• Condolences to the family (of Ernesto Cadenas); urged all to be <br />respectful of law enforcement; and <br />• Commented on recent pedestrian hit and run accidents and fatalities; <br />City has responsibility to provide safe streets. <br />Councilmember Tinajero: <br />• Condolences to the family and all victims of violence; <br />• Need to respect independent investigations process and continue to <br />support our Police Department; and <br />• Congratulated wrestlers from Santa Ana High School that advanced to <br />Masters. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento: <br />• Heartfelt condolences to the victim's family and the Segestrom family; <br />• Commented on pedestrian accident over the weekend — important to <br />assist in search for the hit and run driver; and <br />• Thanked public and all speakers at tonight's meeting. <br />Councilmember Amezcua: <br />• Commented that City Council and Police staff are accountable and will <br />follow fair process; <br />• Thanked Heroes Elementary School Principal Diana Torres for Read <br />Across America invitation; and <br />• Noted that Santa Ana Unified School District partnering with City on <br />Public Service Announcement regarding Safe Streets Program. <br />Councilmember Reyna: <br />• Concurred with Councilmember Martinez on Strategic Plan — City has <br />earmarked funding for public safety and civic engagement; and <br />• Expressed condolences to the family of the victim. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 17 MARCH 3, 2015 <br />1 0A -17 <br />
