Housing Element Progress Report <br />March 17, 2015 <br />Page 2 <br />The Housing Element Annual Progress Report is due to the State Department of Housing and <br />Community Development (HCD) and the State Office of Planning and Research in April of each <br />year if a charter city's housing element identifies the acquisition and rehabilitation of existing <br />housing to meet Regional Housing Need Allocation (RHNA) for the construction of new housing. In <br />addition, the Progress Report is required in order for the City to be eligible for certain State funding <br />programs such as the Housing Related Parks Program (HRP). Per Government Code 65400, the <br />report is to be considered at a public meeting before the legislative body where members of the <br />public may provide testimony and written comments. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal No. 5 Community Health, Livability, <br />Engagement & Sustainability, Objective No. 3B (Ensure compliance with the City's Housing <br />Opportunity Ordinance by requiring rental and ownership housing projects that meet specified <br />criteria provide a minimum of 15 percent affordable units). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this item. <br />Vince Fregoso, AIC <br />Interim Executive Director <br />Planning and Building Agency <br />M M: rb <br />mrMHougl ngM WannueIrepod \20 WCAMarohl7 <br />Exhibit: 1.
