[wring the last fiscal period, approximately 2,500 signs were <br />replaced by the Public Works Agency. The U.S. Department of Transportation established new <br />regulations to improve safety on the highways and streets by replacing less reflective signs with <br />signage that has higher retro- refleotivity, The signs, sign posts, and mounting hardware <br />necessary for ongoing sign maintenance operations purchased through the Central Stores <br />warehouse for distribution to the Public Works Agency Maintenance Services Division comply <br />with this new regulation. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on January 15, 2015, on the City's online bid <br />management and publication system.
