TO PROVIDE <br />ANNUAL SOFTWARE <br />MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT FOR <br />CRIMEMAP SOFTWARE <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 1, 5} <br />CITY M ER <br />o <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 18' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached three -year <br />agreement with GeoSpatial Technologies, Inc. for the period of August 3, 2014 through August 2, <br />2017, for software maintenance and customer support in an amount not to exceed $36,500, <br />subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On August 3, 2009, Council approved agreement A- 2009 -118 with GeoSpatial Technologies, Inc. <br />to purchase the CrimeMap system and provide software maintenance and support. This system <br />enables the Santa Ana Police Department to search and analyze crime data. The Santa Ana <br />Police Department wishes to execute a new three year agreement with GeoSpatial Technologies, <br />Inc. at $10,500 per year, for a three year total of $31,500, plus a $5,000 contingency for <br />unexpected costs, for a total not to exceed $36,500. The CrimeMap software is proprietary and <br />owned by GeoSpatial Technologies, Inc. and can only be serviced by this company. This <br />agreement will cover the period of August 3, 2014 through August 2, 2017. The recommended <br />action will allow for continuous service to the Santa Ana Police Department. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item supports the City's efforts to meet Goal # 1 Community Safety, Objective #5, <br />(provide high quality Police and Fire /Emergency Medical Services response within the City of <br />Santa Ana). <br />25A -1 <br />
