Establishments <br />that sell alcoholic beverages require a conditional use permit (CUP) pursuant to Section 41 -196 of <br />the Santa Ana Municipal Code (SAMC). <br />Project Location and Site Description <br />Northgate Market is currently operating within an existing multi- tenant commercial center located on <br />the northeast corner of Seventeenth Street and College Avenue. The center is approximately 4.3 <br />acres in size; Northgate Market occupies 12,400 square feet of area as part of an approximately <br />31,500 square foot commercial building in the center. Eighty -nine parking spaces are provided <br />directly at the front of the store. The site is surrounded by single - family residential uses to the north <br />and south, multi - family residential uses to west, and single- family residential to the east (Exhibits 1, 2 <br />and 3). <br />Project Description <br />Northgate Market is requesting approval of a Type 21 ABC licen <br />sale of distilled spirits as an ancillary service to the primary <br />supermarket operates from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., seven days <br />of operation are proposed at this time. <br />EXHIBIT A <br />31 B -3 <br />se upgrade to allow the off - premise <br />retail use for its customers.
