DISCUSSION AND DIRECTION ON ASSEMBLY BILL 1217 (DALY) <br />REGARDING ORANGE COUNTY FIRE AUTHORITY GOVERNING <br />STRUCTURE - City Manager's Office <br />Councilmember Amezcua, Orange County Fire Authority board representative, <br />noted that goal of legislation is to streamline process; would not impact Santa <br />Ana since city likely to retain seat; request staff analyze impacts, if any. <br />Mayor Pulido supports proposed assembly bill; noted that board composition <br />similar to former Orange County Transpotration Authority which had 40 seats. <br />Councilmembers Martinez and Tinajera expressed support of proposed Bill; <br />important to retain seat. <br />Mayor Pulido supports proportional board composition. Thanked Joe Kirk and <br />Kevin De Leon and Assemblymember Tom Daly for proposal. <br />MOTION: Support Assembly Bill 1217 (Daly), which would require the <br />Board of Directors of the Orange County Fire Authority, a joint powers <br />agency, to consist of thirteen members, each serving a two-year term. <br />MOTION: Pulido SECOND: Tinajero <br />VOTE: AYES: Amezcua, Benavides, Martinez, Pulido, Reyna, <br />Sarmiento, Tinajero (7) <br />NOES: None (0) <br />ABSTAIN: None (0) <br />ABSENT: None (0) <br />65B.
