City Manager Cavazos, offered that City actively seeking park rangers, Chief <br />explained process and noted that process not expected to change in 30 days; <br />manage expectations. Expect to spend about $75,000 in overtime until new <br />hires. <br />Police Chief Rojas, noted that three individuals passed application review and <br />pending background; process may take 6-9 months; City has competing interest <br />in hiring police officers. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Sarmiento, concerned that use of overtime may evolve into <br />permanent practice. City Manager Cavazos suggested that an update be <br />provided in 90-day update. Council unanimously agreed to return with update in <br />60 days. <br />MOTION: <br />1.
