NO. 14 -093) <br />{ STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 6, 1C} <br />CITY MANAGEII <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />_...• _e <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1$' Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2ntl Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Professional Access CCTV & Electrical for implementation of enhanced <br />security measures (Phase II) in an amount not to exceed $73,700, subject to non - substantive <br />changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />During the past fiscal year the Finance & Management Services Agency Building Maintenance <br />Division implemented security measures consisting of installation of new security card reader <br />devices at the entrances of City Hall, Ross Annex and Corporate Yard. Approval of this contract <br />will allow for the implementation of Phase II of the City's security program which consists of <br />restricting access to the elevators and floors two through eight at City Hall and two through four <br />at the Ross Annex. Additionally, duress alarms will be placed in strategic locations of City Hall, <br />Ross Annex and Council Chambers that will feed directly to Police dispatch. <br />The notice soliciting proposals was advertised on December 23, 2014, on the City's online bid <br />management and publication system. A summary of the solicitations and proposals received is as <br />follows: <br />71 Vendors notified <br />18 Vendors downloaded the solicitation <br />3 Vendors attended the job walk <br />Proposal received <br />A proposal was received, opened on January 20, 2015, and evaluated. The proposal received <br />from Professional Access CCTV & Electrical is responsive to the specifications and meets the <br />City's requirements. The contract amount includes $15,700 for a five -year software maintenance <br />agreement. <br />2213-1 <br />
