ACTION <br />Award a contract to Econolite Group for the purchase of ten traffic signal control cabinets in an <br />amount not to exceed $73,000, subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City <br />Manager and City Attorney, <br />The City of Santa Ana currently maintains and operates 297 traffic signals, many of which have <br />outdated steel cabinets. Often, these cabinets fall due to traffic collisions, electrical surges, rust, <br />or other damage. Once the cabinets are compromised, they must be replaced immediately to <br />minimize delay and congestion impacts to the public. To expedite cabinet replacement, the City <br />will purchase 10 aluminum cabinets that meet current California Department of Transportation <br />standards. These cabinets will be provided to the traffic signal maintenance contractor as <br />needed for installation. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on March 16, 2015, an the City's online bid management <br />and publication system. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />31 Vendors notified <br />2 Vendors downloaded bid documents <br />4 Bids received <br />Bids were received, opened on April 6, 2015, and evaluated (Exhibit 1).
