Recommend that the City Council authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to <br />execute the attached Mills Act agreement with David Rance, subject to non - substantive changes <br />approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />Request of Applicant <br />David Rance is requesting approval to designate an existing residence located at 2130 North Ross <br />Street to the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties, as well as approval to execute a Mills Act <br />agreement with the City of Santa Ana. <br />Prolect Location and Site Description <br />The subject property is located on the west side of Ross Street, between Santa Clara Avenue and <br />Nineteenth Street. The subject site contains a 1,691 square foot, single story English Tudor Revival <br />style residence with a detached garage on a 9,250 square foot residential lot (Exhibit 1). <br />Analysis of the Issues <br />In March 1999, the City Council approved an ordinance establishing the Historic Resources <br />Commission and the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties. The Historic Resources <br />Commission may, by resolution and at a noticed public hearing, designate as historical property any <br />building or part thereof, object, structure, or site having importance to the history or architecture of <br />the city in accordance with the criteria set forth in Section 30 -2 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code <br />(SAMC). <br />EXHIBIT B4 <br />25A -45 <br />
