(3) Protect the security of City property by keeping controller cabinet and building <br />doors locked at all times. <br />(4) Refrain from using locked premises for storage of materials, supplies or tools, <br />except as approved by the Director's Representative. <br />(5) Program normal irrigation between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. <br />unless alternative hours are approved by City. <br />c) Water Conservation <br />(1) The Contractors Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) shall meet once a month <br />with the Director's Representative to review the Monthly Water Conservation <br />Report to discuss water conservation strategies. These discussions may include, <br />but not be limited to, the Contractor turning off irrigation systems during periods <br />of rainfall and times when suspension of irrigation is desirable to conserve water <br />while remaining within the guidelines of the EAW. <br />(2) When Park Services determines that plant material (turf, groundcover, <br />shrubs, and trees) must be irrigated, all controllers shall be activated within <br />twenty -four (24) hours. <br />d) Inspection and Reporting <br />(1) The Certified Irrigation Technicians (CIT) shall physically inspect the <br />operation of all irrigation systems once a month and prepare a written report <br />specifying park name, controller location /name, start times, run times, program <br />name, station number, water budget percent, weekly Et and deficiencies. All <br />deficiencies shall be cured /repaired within five working days or the Director's <br />Representative shall impose penalties for failure to respond and /or hire a <br />Certified Irrigation Technician to remedy the system. The Contractor shall <br />maintain all sprinkler systems using City standard irrigation products and details. <br />All repairs shall be to City of Santa Ana Park Services' specifications and details. <br />Repairs to irrigation heads shall be with matching precipitation nozzles. <br />Contractor shall ensure that excessive over spray /runoff into street right -of -ways <br />or other areas not intended to receive irrigation is controlled. The Contractor <br />shall repair at his own expense, by way of CITA's, any irrigation head and lateral <br />line rendered inoperable or malfunctioning due to attrition, vandalism, etc. All <br />other repairs, RCV to meter, shall be performed by Certified Irrigation <br />Technicians and shall be "tagged" using the City of Santa Ana Park Services <br />"tagging" system noting the Company and Irrigation Tech that performed the <br />repair, the date of the repair and the Contractor's and Irrigation Technicians <br />contact information. All repairs shall be warrantied for two years from the date of <br />the approved repair. All head and lateral lines shall be repaired within five days <br />of discovery of malfunction /repairs needed. All other irrigation repairs shall be <br />performed immediately following approval of the work. <br />(2) The CMIT shall perform a daily visual inspection of all irrigated areas first <br />thing each morning. All areas receiving marginal coverage shall receive <br />supplemental irrigation by being irrigated by a portable irrigation method. The <br />contractor shall furnish all portable hoses, nozzles, sprinklers, etc., necessary to <br />accomplish this additional irrigation. Care shall be exercised to prevent a waste <br />of water, erosion, and /or detrimental seepage into existing underground <br />improvements or structures. <br />e) Repairs <br />Page 21 <br />
