Dugouts shall be cleaned daily and be free of brickdust, stains, weeds and other debris. <br />Dugouts shall be hosed down weekly so they are completely free of any brickdust or <br />other stains /gum, sunflower seeds, etc. <br />7.1.3 Contractor shall hose and /or sweep and hose out all dugouts so they are 100% free of <br />brickdust, brickdust stains or any other debris. <br />7.2 Maintenance Procedure <br />7.2.1 Retain smooth and level playing surface, using the following daily procedure. The <br />contractor shall remove all bases before beginning any work on in -field and re- install <br />after all work on in -field is completed. <br />7.2.2 After removing all bases, the contractor shall scrape /wire brush all base post anchors <br />and base inserts. This will help facilitate the base removal and installation. <br />7.2.3 The Contractor shall rake /shovel loose material from high spots back into low spots /worn <br />areas on running paths, sliding zones, and any other low spots /worn areas appearing on <br />the field before any watering or dragging shall take place. <br />7.3 Home Plate Area /Batter's Box Area Holes. <br />7.3.1 Sweep /Rake away all loose brickdust -mound mix - calcine clay. <br />7.3.2 Wet area until moist. <br />7.3.3 Scarify area ('s) [batter's box hole ('s)] with shovel. This will help the mix bind better. <br />7.3.4 In a 5 gallon bucket mix "mound mix" with water to desired consistency. Do not use <br />infield mix for this purpose. <br />7.3.5 Backfill "mound -mix" material into hole ('s). <br />7.3.6 Tamp the area firmly with steel tamp. <br />Note: The tamp will be most effective if you cover the bottom with plastic. Tape the plastic to <br />the tamp handle. The plastic keeps the clay from sticking to the tamp's bottom. <br />7.3.7 Wet area until moist using a hose and power nozzle. Cover areas with calcified clay. <br />7.4 Pitcher's Mound <br />7.4.1 Follow same procedure for repair of home plate /batter's box area utilizing dry "mound <br />mix" for this purpose. Do not cover with infield mix. <br />7.4.2 Add to the above the following: Rake all loose material from bottom to top and cover <br />with "Mound Mix ". <br />7.5 General Brickdust Skinned Infield Areas <br />7.5.1 After raking /shoveling loose material from high spots back into low spots /worn areas on <br />running paths, sliding zones, and any other low spots /worn areas appearing on the field, <br />the Contractor shall fill all remaining low spots with new Stabilizer Solutions Stabilizer <br />Gold Infield Mix (with stabilizer). brickdust from stock and make level. <br />Page 33 <br />
