NO. 15 -027) <br />(STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 7,2) <br />CITY MANAGE <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />r_1=091TIO <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1"Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2n'Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Scott's Screen Printing for screen - printed and embroidered clothing for a <br />one -year period expiring June 30, 2016, with provisions for two one year - renewals exercisable by <br />the City Manager, subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney, in an annual amount not to exceed $40,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />City departments and agencies purchase a variety of silk screened and embroidered t- shirts, <br />sweatshirts, jackets and ball caps for various sports and youth guidance programs and for special <br />events and educational programs. The Parks and Recreation Agency purchase t- shirts for all <br />sport programs and for holiday and special events. The Public Works Agency Water Resources <br />Division gives t- shirts at various community events promoting water conservation. Additionally, <br />the City provides stock t- shirts for uniformed personnel in various departments including Finance <br />and Management Services, Public Works, Police, and Parks and Recreation. <br />The notice inviting bids was advertised on April 16, 2015, on the City's online bid management <br />and publication system. A summary of the bid invitations and bids received is as follows: <br />200 Vendors were notified <br />12 Vendors downloaded the bid packet <br />3 Bids received <br />The bids were received and opened on April 30, 2015, and evaluated (Exhibit 1). The bid <br />received from Scott's Screen Printing is responsive to the specifications and meets the City's <br />requirements. <br />22C -1 <br />
