n 4 <br />REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />COUNCIL CITY i 3: <br />JUNE 16, 2015 <br />TITLE: <br />AMENDMENT TO RESOLUTION NUMBER <br />2001 -065 TO PROVIDE FOR CONTINUATION OF <br />ADDITIONAL PARTIALLY -PAID TEMPORARY <br />MILITARY LEAVE OF ABSENCE FOR CITY <br />EMPLOYEES CALLED TO ACTIVE DUTY <br />{STATEGIC PLAN NO. 7} <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1s` Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2 n Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED <br />TO <br />FILE <br />NUMBER <br />Adopt a resolution authorizing the City Manager to continue to provide additional partially -paid <br />temporary military leave of absence and dependent benefits for City employees called to active <br />duty with the armed forces. <br />DISCUSSION <br />On October 1, 2001, the Santa Ana City Council adopted Resolution No. 2001 -065, providing for <br />additional partially -paid temporary military leave of absence for full -time officers or employees of <br />the City called to active military service with the Armed Forces of the United States in connection <br />with the then- current military crisis, and for continuation of dependent benefits. That Resolution <br />also provided that its terms would expire unless extended by further action of the City Council. <br />The City Council has subsequently <br />Resolution No. 2001 -065.
