CITY COUNCILMEMBER COMMENTS <br />Councilmember Amezcua: <br />• Provided update on Orange County Fire Authority meeting; Assembly <br />Bill 1217 moving through Senate; asked staff to research unintended <br />consequences of Bill; and <br />• Thanked staff for budget presentation. <br />Councilmember Reyna: <br />• Urged all to be water wise; <br />• Announced that August 29th will host 2nd Annual 5K Run; and <br />• Asked all to shop Santa Ana for Father's Day. <br />Councilmember Benavides: <br />• Thanked all residents who addressed the Council on various issues; <br />• Commented on homelessness and impacts such as loitering; indicated <br />that Anaheim considering comprehensive homeless center; work with <br />the County to develop solutions; and <br />• Invited all to City's 4th of July Celebration from 4-9:30 p.m. at <br />Centennial Park. <br />Councilmember Martinez: <br />• Requested adjournment in memory of David Renderio who passed <br />away at the young age of 46; <br />• Wished colleagues and all fathers a Happy Father's Day; <br />• Welcomed new Planning and Building Executive Director; <br />• Requested notice to residents on water drought and watering schedule <br />(Mondays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.); <br />• Welcomed new state of the art 24 -Fitness at Westfield Mall; <br />• Would like to ensure that cell towers and communication infrastructure <br />are robust enough to survive major earthquakes; and <br />• Invited residents to participate in Orange County Council of <br />Governments (OCCOG) Complete Streets Initiative Public Workshop <br />to be held June 16 and 17 and another session by the Orange County <br />Transportation Authority on June 25th. <br />Councilmember Tinajero: <br />• Congratulated baseball leagues for entering playoffs and wish them <br />luck; thanked Rick Niedermeyer's efforts with AYSO; <br />• Announced that Santa Ana school district has invited City officials to <br />attend graduation ceremonies; and <br />• Adjourned meeting in memory of Keith Gober who was only 44 years <br />of age, attended local schools and left a young family behind. <br />Mayor Pro Tem Sarmiento: <br />• Commented on the life and advocacy of David Renderio; <br />• Welcomed new Planning and Building Executive Director; <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 32 JUNE 2, 2015 <br />1 OA -32 <br />
