<br />04/01/15 Page 7-12 <br />longer a member of the family (e.g., documentation of another address at which the <br />person resides such as a lease or utility bill). <br /> <br />Foster Children and Foster Adults <br /> SAHA Policy <br />Third-party verification from the state or local government agency responsible for the <br />placement of the individual with the family is required. <br /> <br />7-II.E. VERIFICATION OF STUDENT STATUS <br />General Requirements <br /> SAHA Policy <br />SAHA requires families to provide verification of student status at the time of eligibility <br />appointment for all family members of school age. Verification of status is also required <br />for all students who are 18 years of age or older. This information will be verified only if: <br />The family claims full-time student status for an adult other than the head, spouse, <br />or co-head, or <br />The family claims a childcare deduction to enable a family member to further his <br />or her education. <br />The family includes a student enrolled in an institution of higher education. <br />Verification of full-time student status includes all of the following: <br /> Written verification from the registrar’s office or other school official. <br />School records indicating enrollment in sufficient credits to qualify as full-time by <br />the educational institution. <br />Final report of units completed within 90 days of the semester or quarter’s end. <br />Full-time students that are over eighteen (18) years of age and are employed are required <br />to provide a certified transcript from each institution of higher education within 90 days <br />of the semester or quarter’s end. <br /> <br />Restrictions on Assistance to Students Enrolled in Institution of Higher Education <br />This section only applies to students who are seeking assistance on their own, separately from <br />their parents. It does not apply to students residing with parents who are seeking or receiving <br />HCV assistance. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />5-28
