MOTION: Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to <br />execute the one -year agreement, with two one -year options to renew, <br />with Westbound Communications, Inc. for the period June 16, 2015 <br />to June 15, 2016 for consulting services related to the continuance <br />of the Ready OC Emergency Preparedness Campaign, and the "If <br />You See Something, Say SomethingT" ' Public Awareness Campaign, <br />which primarily serves the Anaheim /Santa Ana Urban Area, for a <br />total three year amount not to exceed $1,500,000, subject to non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney. <br />25E. AGMT NO. 2015 -113 - ANIMAL SHELTER SERVICES {STRATEGIC <br />PLAN NO. 1, 3 - Police Department <br />MOTION: Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to <br />execute the one -year agreement with the County of Orange to <br />provide animal care shelter services for the period July 1, 2015 <br />through June 30, 2016, in the amount of $1,135,400 subject to non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City <br />Attorney. <br />25F. AGMT NO. 2015 -114 - VIDEO SECURITY SYSTEM MAINTENANCE <br />ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM {STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 1, 5} - Police <br />Department <br />MOTION: Authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to <br />execute a one -year agreement with Siemens for the period of June 1, <br />2015 through May 31, 2016, in an amount not to exceed $174,914, <br />subject to non - substantive changes approved by the City Manager <br />and City Attorney. <br />25G. AGMT NO. 2015 -115 - HOUSING FOR > FEDERAL INMATE <br />{STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 1, 4A} - Police Department, <br />• Dylan Thompson, spoke in opposition to Agenda Item 25G and <br />representing May Day Coalition, opposed to house illegal immigrants <br />in City jail for the following reasons: ethical, local use and financial, and <br />public safety. <br />• Jason Aula, indicated that City of Long Beach took formal position to <br />not oppose federal law; supports housing illegal inmates. <br />City Manager Cavazos, discussed economic factors to support increasing <br />rates with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement; also, indicated <br />that proposed agreement allows for 90 day cancellation notice, will allow <br />for full cost recovery and staff to continue exploring outsourcing option. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 16 JUNE 16, 2015 <br />1 0A -16 <br />
