(8) The specifications for the pruning of Pinto Palm trees are as follows: <br />Maintenance of the ornamental ball located at the base of the palm canopy, <br />directly below the live fronds, shall be as described by species as follows: <br />2. Pindo Palm (Butia capltata): Live, healthy fronds, Initiating at an angle of 90 <br />degrees or greater from the horizontal plane, shall not be removed. Fronds <br />removed should be out close to the petiole base, taking into consideration the <br />role of petiole bases in the formation and maintenance of the ornamental bail at <br />the base of the canopy, as applicable by species. <br />(9) The specifications for the pruning of Mediterranean Palm trees are as follows: <br />Maintenance of the ornamental ball located at the base of the palm canopy, <br />directly below the live fronds, shall be as described by species as follows: <br />2, Mediterranean Palm (Chamaerops humilis): Live, healthy fronds, Initiating at an <br />angle of 90 degrees or greater from the horizontal plane, shall not be removed. <br />Fronds removed should be cut close to the petiole base, taking Into consideration <br />the role of petiole bases in the formation and maintenance of the ornamental bail <br />at the base of the canopy, as applicable by species. <br />(10) The specifications for the pruning of Guadalupe Palm trees are as follows: <br />Maintenance of the ornamental ball located at the base of the palm canopy, <br />directly below the live fronds, shall be as described by species as follows: <br />2. Guadalupe Palm (Brahea edulis): Live, healthy fronds, initiating at an angle of 90 <br />degrees or greater from the horizontal plane, shall not be removed, Fronds <br />removed should be out close to the petiole base, taking into consideration the <br />role of petiole bases in the formation and maintenance of the ornamental ball at <br />the base of the canopy, as applicable by species. <br />(11) The specifications for the pruning of Palmetto Palm trees are as follows: <br />Maintenance of the ornamental ball located at the base of the palm canopy, <br />directly below the live fronds, shall be as described by species as follows: <br />Cabbage Palm (Saba) palmetto): Live, healthy fronds, initiating at an angle of 90 <br />degrees or greater from the horizontal plane, shall not be removed. Fronds <br />removed should be cut close to the petiole base, taking into consideration the <br />role of petiole bases in the formation and maintenance of the ornamental ball at <br />the base of the canopy, as applicable by species. <br />C. TREE REMOVAL <br />Tree removal consists of the removal of the entirety of a hardwood tree or palm tree and the <br />removal of its root system. <br />(1) The Contractor shall comply with all general specifications standards described <br />herein, <br />25B -33 <br />
