REQUEST FOR <br />COUNCIL ACTION <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING DATE: <br />JULY I, 201E <br />TITLE: <br />LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES VOTING <br />DELEGATE (STRATEGIC PLAN NO. 5, 1) <br />ki�i`rIn1J! <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />vagagm <br />D As Recommended <br />As Amended <br />Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />Ordinance on 2n° Reading <br />Implementing Resolution <br />Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Designate a voting delegate and two alternates for the League of California Cities' Annual <br />Business Meeting scheduled for October 2, 2015. <br />This year's League Annual Conference is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30 through <br />October 2, 2015 in San Jose. One very Important aspect of the Annual Conference is the annual <br />Business Meeting when the membership takes action on conference resolutions. <br />To expedite the conduct of business, every City is being requested to designate a voting <br />representative and two alternates who will be present the City at the Business Meeting. League <br />bylaws provide that each city is entitled to one vote and to determine a city position in matters <br />affecting municipal or League policy matters. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN <br />Approval of this agreement allows the City to meet Goal #5, Community Health, Livability, <br />Engagement & Sustainability, Priority #1, Establish a comprehensive community engagement <br />initiative to expand access to information and create opportunities for stakeholders to play an <br />active role in discussing public policy and setting priorities. <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action, <br />Mara D, Huixar <br />Clerk of the Council <br />65A -1 <br />
