Councilmember Martinez, suggested the City apply for turf replacement <br />grants available through the Metropolitan Water District and use of rain <br />barrels to collect water. Urged residents to apply <br />City Manager Cavazos, staff recommendation includes approval of <br />alternative #4 in the staff report, as follow: use of drought tolerant with <br />decomposed granite; high -priority areas of the city for groundcover; use of <br />none or Potable water; fiscal year 2016 savings of approximately <br />$577,000 with capital cost of $5.0 million for implementation. <br />MOTION: <br />1. Direct staff to comply with the State of California Executive Order <br />B-29-16 due to drought conditions and stop irrigation of <br />landscaped medians by June 1, 2015. <br />2.
