immediate family. Such leave is designated as bereavement leave. "Immediate <br />family" as used in this section is limited to; <br />Any member of the employee's household related by blood or marriage; <br />A parent, parent -in -law, stepparent, spouse, registered domestic partner, <br />child, stepchild, brother, stepbrother, sister, stepsister, grandparent, or <br />grandchild of the employee, regardless of residence; <br />3. Any other relative of the employee by blood or by marriage where it can be <br />established by the employee that as a result of such relative's death, the <br />employee's presence is required to handle funeral arrangements and /or <br />matters of estate. <br />B. An employee may use up to twelve (12) hours of additional leave charged to their <br />Personal Necessity Leave balance when authorized by the Executive Director. <br />10.11 Industrial Leave. Any period of time during which an employee is required to be absent <br />from his or her position by reason of an industrial injury or industrial illness for which he <br />or she is entitled to receive compensation shall not be considered a break in continuous <br />service for the purpose of his or her right to salary adjustments or to the accrual of <br />vacation and seniority. <br />27 <br />25J -29 <br />
