Agreement with the Service Employees International Union <br />August 4, 2015 <br />Page 2 <br />5) Health Insurance: Effective January 1, 2016 and again January 1, 2017, the City will <br />contribute 75% or depending upon the individual employees' selection of CalPERS health <br />insurance, the entire premium, whichever is less of the amount allocated to full -time SEIU <br />members for health insurance premium costs for the employee and any dependents. <br />6) Dental Insurance: Effective January 1, 2016 and again January 1, 2017, the City will <br />contribute 75% or depending upon the individual employees' selection of dental insurance, <br />the entire premium, whichever is less of the amount allocated to full -time SEIU members <br />for dental insurance premium costs for the employee and any dependents. <br />7) Retirement Health Savings Plan (RHSP): PTCS members will have the option of <br />participating in an RHSP, a plan to provide for payment of health insurance premiums and <br />other qualified medical expenses post - employment on a tax -free basis. Effective January <br />1, 2016, the City will increase the base salary of each PTCS member by 1.25% and <br />deposit said monies into individual employee accounts. <br />STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT <br />Approval of this item allows the City to meet Goal #7 — Team Santa Ana, Objective #6 — (Provide <br />a positive workplace environment that supports the health of its employees and celebrates its <br />success and Goals). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />This Memorandum of Understanding will result in a cost of $18,130 during fiscal year 2015 -16 <br />and a cost of $24,160 during fiscal year 2016 -17 for a total cost to the City of $42,290 during the <br />term of the Memorandum.
