Mills Act Agreements <br />September 1, 2015 <br />Page 2 <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION ACTION <br />On July 23, 2015, the Historic Resources Commission recommended that the City Council <br />authorize the City Manager and Clerk of the Council to execute the attached Mills Act <br />agreements with the identified property owners for the historic structures, subject to non - <br />substantive changes approved by the City Manager and City Attorney. <br />DISCUSSION <br />This action allows for the approval of a Historic Property Preservation Agreement (Mills Act <br />Contract) which provides a potential property tax reduction allowing the property owner to <br />reinvest the tax savings into the maintenance of the historic property (Exhibit A).
