LS 8.6.15 <br />SECTION 3. Article I of Chapter 14 of the Santa Ana Municipal Code is hereby <br />amended such that it reads as follows: <br />Sec. 14 -30. — Fire Protection Systems (Chapter 9). <br />(a) Section 907.2.13 High -rise buildings is hereby revised as follows: <br />High -rise buildings and Group 1 -2 occupancies having occupied floors located <br />more than 75 feet above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access. <br />High -rise buildings and Group 1 -2 occupancies having occupied floors located <br />more than 75 feet above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access <br />shall be provided with an automatic smoke detection system in accordance <br />with Section 907.2.13.1, a fire department communication system in <br />accordance with Section 907.2.13.2 and an emergency voice /alarm <br />communication system in accordance with Section 907.6.2.2. <br />(b) Section 907.6.3.2 High -rise buildings is hereby revised as follows: <br />High -rise buildings and Group 1 -2 occupancies having occupied floors located <br />more than 75 feet above the lowest level of fire department vehicle access, <br />a separate zone by floor shall be provided for all of the following types of <br />alarm- initiating devices where provided: <br />1. Smoke detectors. <br />2. Sprinkler water -flow devices. <br />3. Manual fire alarm boxes <br />4. Other approved types of automatic detection devices or <br />suppression systems. <br />SECTION 4. Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act ( "CEQA ") and the <br />State CEQA Guidelines, the adoption of this ordinance is exempt from CEQA review <br />pursuant to 14 California Code of Regulations section 15061(b)(3), which is applicable if it <br />can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the project may have a significant <br />effect on the environment. As a result, a Notice of Exemption will be filed upon adoption of <br />this ordinance. <br />SECTION 5. If any section, subsection, phrase, or clause of this ordinance is for any <br />reason held to be unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining <br />portions of this ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have passed this <br />ordinance and each section, subsection, phrase or clause thereof irrespective of the fact <br />that any one or more sections, subsections, phrases, or clauses be declared invalid or <br />unconstitutional. <br />110-5 <br />
