City of Santa Ana CDBG Scope of Work <br />Program Year 2015 -16 (July 1, 2015 - June 30, 2016) <br />Name of Organization Human <br />Name of Funded Prograr Community Domestic Violence Services <br />Annual Accomplishment Goal <br />Unduplicated Participants anticipated to be served during the 12 -month contract eriod. <br />200 TOTAL 200 Santa Ana Partici ants 100% 200 Low Income Pa ticipants 100% <br />Program and Funding Description <br />Human Options Community Domestic Violence (CDV) services program will focus on providing group services to <br />children and youth ages 5 -18 and parents. The CDV program will consist of three (3) psycho - educational programs: <br />Safe Dates and Hands Are Not For Hitting for youth and Families for Safe Dates for parents. The implementation of <br />these programs are guided by a family engagement framework with the over arching goal of promoting ongoing <br />support of healthy peer and parent -child relationships. The programs will serve to educate youth and parents with the <br />goal of decreasing negative or at risk behaviors. These programs target children /youth and parents who reside in <br />central Santa Ana who are at high risk of experiencing domestic violence and child abuse due to factors such as <br />unemployment, low household income, and lack of basic needs. The CDV program will be implemented at Minnie <br />Street Family Resource Center, local schools or other Human Options sites. <br />All CDV psycho - educational programs will available in English and Spanish.All parents of children participating in Safe <br />Dates and Hands are Not for Hitting will meet with a Children's advocate to complete a 45 minute to 1 hour intake <br />screening. During this screening the Child Advocate will asses age and appropriateness for group, determine eligibility <br />and enroll clients into the appropriate group. <br />Safe Dates is an adolescent dating abuse prevention evidence based curriculum. Six (6) -week, 120 minutes per <br />weekly session, targeting 50 students between 7th to 12th grade in a group /classroom setting, with the goal of <br />implementing 5 Safe Dates cycles between July 2015 -June 2016. <br />Families for Safe Dates is the parent /caring adult component to Safe Dates. It was evaluated nationally and found to <br />be effective in an array of teen - caregiver healthy relationship components. Six (6) -week, 120 minutes per weekly <br />session, targeting 50 parents in a group/ classroom setting, with a goal of implementing 5 Families for Safe Dates <br />cycles between July 2015 -June 2016. <br />Hands Are Not for Hitting is a program targeting anger management and bullying by grade level clusters (Kinder -3rd; <br />4th -5th; & 6th).
